Vacation all I ever wanted, vacation had to get away...

Alas! The final week of vacation has begun. It makes me sad. No more cute clothes I get to wear, no more relatives to see, no more laziness to be done..... I'll miss it. But I am starting to miss school. Just a bit. I like seeing people everyday. I am also going to miss the awesome feeling of waking up in the morning and not knowing what I'm going to do. I love when there are no plans. It makes life more fun.

I had a Merry Christmas!

I love the holidays. Seeing relatives, eating amazing food, and getting presents are great! I got to see a lot of family from both sides of the tree this year, many of whom on my mother's side I hadn't seen in years because they live in different areas of the country. On Christmas morning, I woke up to find that I had gotten various small gifts and a new printer and a GPS from my parents! Then we drove down to my grandma on my dad's side's house and we had dinner with that side of my family. We took lots of pictures and ate a HUGE meal. We could barely find room to put all of the entrees on the table. I think we ought to regulate the amount of food next year. Then we drove to my great aunt on my mom's side's house and visited with them. It was really enjoyable! I stayed at that house for a couple of days to spend time with them. My cousin and I were going to see a movie with my second cousin but that didn't work out because some of the younger kids needed to be looked after. So, instead, we ladies watched 21 while most of the men played poker in the garage. (I love 21- Jim Sturgess is so cute!) I loved seeing everybody and getting to catch up. Then this morning I went hunting with my dad, uncle, brother, and grandparents on my dad's side. It was fun and we got eight ducks, but my shoulder still hurts from the kick of the gun! All in all, a great week in my book.

White Wedding

I went to the wedding yesterday. It was so much fun! It was held at a plantation home which made for a beautiful (and very Cajun!) wedding. The ceremony was held outside: it was cold, windy, and you could hear cars driving by which made it hard to hear what was going on. At least it was nice and short! After that we went through the home and out into a courtyard area which had a really cool fountain in the middle of it while we waited for the photographers to finish with the family pictures. We were starving by then so we attacked the appetizer tray people for their food. Then we went inside and had the reception dinner. I thought that we would have a while to eat, so I only got a small sized plate of food, but after about ten minutes the band started playing and we all started dancing. I'm sure we all looked like total idiots, but it was fun! I danced with all of my relatives, who were really entertaining dancers. Towards the end the older women started dancing more crazily (probably thanks to some liquid courage) and my cousin and I hung out with my second cousin's brothers as we watched them and laughed. Then after that we went outside in the night after doing a New Orleans esque dance line and stood in two lines on either side of the door. We lit sparklers and held them up as the couple took their first walk out into the world together as man and wife. They both looked really happy. Congratulations Alex and Charlene!

Ahhh family

I love my family. They are some of the best people I've ever met.
Yesterday I went to the rehearsal dinner and saw a TON of my relatives. Some of them I hadn't met, and some of them I hadn't seen in a long, long time. I liked everyone I met. (Hence the I have the best family comment.) The rehearsal dinner was really enjoyable. I had a filet mignon. Mmmmm.... steak! Afterwards I hung out with a couple of my girl relatives and we told stories of random funny happenings in our lives. You know, it's a good day when you can barely tell your own story because you are cracking up so much that you can barely speak.

I am so glad that we had this wedding in our family. It has brought me to so many great people!

I Can Hear The Bells...

I love that Hairspray song. Weddings are great.
I have one coming up. A cousin is getting married.
It's been so much fun so far, I get to see all of the relatives that I like and don't get to see too often.
It's been a while since I've been to a wedding. I can't wait :)
